is investing in yourself worth it?

$3,000 camera, $400 lens, $150 hard drive, $200 worst of SD cards the list goes on and on....

So is it all worth it? Why do I need to sink so much money into all this gear and education? Why can't I just buy the cheapest camera and be good to go? Well the short answer is you can. BUT then you can't expect your clients to pay top prices for your services. If you can't invest in yourself through gear and education, then how can you expect anyone else to invest their money into you?

However, it isn't just gear that matters. It's education. But don't worry if you don't have the money to invest in top online courses, retreats, or shootouts. There are so so so many free sources of education out there! Investing your TIME is just as good as investing your money!

Podcasts:

Podcasts are a WEALTH of education all for freeeeee! Most episodes are about an hour and are perfect to listen to while editing, going on a walk, or driving your car.

Books:

Books, while not completely free, are SUCH AN AMAZING RESOURCE! Whether you want to learn more business strategies or just need a little pick-me-up to be inspired again, books are your way to go! I used to HATE reading and thought it was such a waste, but lately I've been slowly but surely getting back into reading again and I honestly believe that reading is one of the most underrated ways to learn out there!
