If you know me at all then you'll know I've never been much of an avid reader haha. BUT this past year I've been really trying to intentionally schedule reading time into my day! Whether that is an actual time during the day or a chapter before I go to bed, I try to read at least once per day. Yet, sometimes I can't even get that little bit in and that's where audiobooks come in! I LOVE audiobooks because you can literally finish a book while multitasking like cleaning, driving, or walking to class. IT'S PERFECT!!! So if you've been struggling to find time to actually sit down and read that next book, try it as an audiobook! I can't recommend it enough!!
But anyways! On to what you came for! My top 3 books from fall 2020!
THIS BOOK!!! Ok this might be one of my all-time favorites. I usually take a while to get through books, but this one I finished in a week and couldn't put it down!! It discusses the psychology behind our habits: why we can't seem to break the bad ones or stick with the good ones. It gives practical tips to changing your life in the small ways: the ways that will actually make a difference! So often we think that we need to go big or go home if we wanna change our life but this book challenges that with the idea that small changes actually have the biggest impact if we stick with them and turn them into daily habits. If you've ever wanted to learn more about human behavior, change your habits, or honestly just get motivated or inspired, READ THIS BOOK!!!
Ooo this book is a good one! This book discusses one of my BIGGEST struggles and that is saying no!! It talks about the importance of prioritizing what is actually essential in life and saying no to everything else that isn't. AND LET ME TELL YOU! That is a MAJOR struggle of mine!! I love to do everything and be a part of everything and say yes to everything hahaha. Yet, this leads to major burnout and this book discusses just how important it is to say no to things. If you've ever struggled with prioritizing time for what is most meaningful in your personal or business life, OR if you have a problem saying no to people or opportunities THEN THIS IS THE BOOK FOR YOU!!!
I got this book at the end of the summer and am just now finishing it up, but wow it is such a breath of fresh air! It goes into the importance of four different rhythms: rest, restore, connect, and create. The chapters are super short which I love because it's such a perfect short read before bed. This book is so good for increasing your mindfulness, improving your relationships, and going back and unlocking your childhood passions.
So those are a few of my recent favorites! If you've read any of these books and wanna share your thoughts, leave them below! Or if you have any other favs that I should check out next, comment them below!! Happy reading!
